African Queen is a South African bred dual purpose and high alpha hop.
Berries (blueberries, black currant, gooseberries), stone fruit and melons are the most common descriptors of African Queen, but it is complex and unique with some brewers describing a slight chili spice.
African Queen works well with all hop-forward beers, including American and Belgian styles. Also works well with subtle blended beers such as those with coffee, fruit, and spices.
